On-line Exhibit Shows Grosse Pointe Glitz

Ever wonder how the other half

lived in Grosse Pointe in the early

decades of the 1900s?

Puttin’ on the Glitz,

a new on-line

exhibit on the Grosse Pointe

Historical Society’s website,

www.gphistorical.org, gives a rare

glimpse into the personal lives of

Grosse Pointe’s rich and famous.

The simple-to-use exhibit features

numerous photos of Grosse Pointe’s

own auto baron families, their clas-

sic yachts, gracious homes, and

elegant lifestyles. Also available are

newspaper clippings, family trees,

and articles chronicling the glam-

orous and sometimes tragic lives of

Grosse Pointe’s social elite.
