The Past for the Future: A Simple Way

to Give a Legacy Gift to the Society

“I give, devise, and bequeath the sum of $____________

(or _______% percent) of my net estate, as

finally determined for estate tax purposes,

to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society (GPHS),

a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization located in

Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, to be used in

furtherance of its charitable purposes.”

We are indebted to our donors who have included the

Grosse Pointe Historical Society in their wills or

trusts. Insurance policies, IRAs, or annuities are an

easy way to leave money to the Society. If you would

like to leave a restricted gift or would like to discuss

other gift planning ideas, please call (313) 884-7010.

Grosse Pointe History

DVD Available Now

The two popular Grosse Pointe documentary videos,

Recollections of the Past, 1650-1900

, and

The Past As

Prologue, 1900-present

, are now available together on one

DVD and can be purchased at

the Provencal-Weir house or

Resource Center. The cost is

$10 or free to anyone who

joins the Society as a lifetime

member.

The transfer of the VHS

videos to DVD was made pos-

sible by a gift from St. John

Hospital and Medical Center.

“As a long-time member of this community, we under-

stand the area's rich historical traditions,” said Rhonda

Welsh of St. John Hospital and Medical Center Marketing

Department. “We were excited to provide a community

sponsorship that supports the Historical Society’s impor-

tant work.”
