2010 has brought new schools and age groups to the Provencal-

Weir House. Our active outreach to local schools has received an

enthusiastic response. Many reservations have been scheduled and

our spring calendar is filling up. Call soon to make reservations for

your students.

We are also in the process of developing a new educational

program which will focus on the history and impact of Father Gabriel Richard. This will

be available to all area schools later this year.

Local scouts have been added to our outreach program for after school activities. Two

Girl Scout troops from Kerby Elementary School are scheduled to come in March for a

class on etiquette and music from the turn of the century.

Watch for the upcoming announcement for our

Ribbon Farm Days

summer camp

scheduled for June, July and August.

From my experience, once people see the

Provencal-Weir House they fall in love with it

and all that Grosse Pointe Historical Society

has to offer. With this in mind, it has become

my mission to introduce this historical site to

as many schools and children’s groups as pos-

sible because I have fallen in love with it, too.
