Support Needed from City
Governments
Several members of the Grosse Pointe Historical
Society recently spoke at the Mayors Breakfast, a
gathering of city officials from the five Pointes,
explaining the mission and accomplishments of the
Society and asking for financial support.
We are now asking you, members, friends, and sup-
porters of the Society, to reinforce our request by
writing to the city government and asking for their
financial backing. Specifically, we have asked each
city government for $5,000 per year to go toward
our educational, outreach, and archival initiatives.
This would create a more formal partnership
between the Society and the cities, furthering the
goals of each with regards to promoting and pre-
serving the unique heritage of Grosse Pointe.
