Spring/Summer Second Saturdays
Drop in for our open-house tours of the 1823 Provencal-Weir House and enjoy these activities from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Mother’s Day Tea (event on Saturday)
May 9, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Our annual May tea party. Guests will don their favorite hat and learn more about the history and tradition of
afternoon tea while enjoying a selection of teas and light refreshments. Don’t have a hat? Hostess Cyndee
Harrison’s vintage collection will be available! Enjoy Maypole dancing on the lawn, weather permitting.
Walking Tour
June 13, Tour begins at 2:00 p.m.
Take a guided walking tour of the neighborhood around the Grosse Pointe Historical Society’s Provencal-Weir
House. The tour, led by St. Clair Shores City Assessor Scott Vandemergel, will last one–two hours. Points of interest
include 301 Lakeshore Pumping Station, Moross Road, John Wynne House, Tonnancour, Windemere Place, and
Provencal Road. The walk will be approximately one mile.
The History and Preservation of Lake St. Clair
July 11, 1–4:00 p.m.
Genot Picor and a lecturer from the Clinton Watershed Conservancy will inform
participants of the Lake Conservation Program’s efforts to keep Lake St. Clair
healthy and alive for everyone to enjoy. There will be activities for children. Light
refreshments will be served.

The GPHS is in the process of creating a
summer camp for children ages 7-8 and 9-10.
The camp will offer activities including arts
and crafts, music, cooking and other popular
activities of yesterday. Details to follow.
